Evening Service Reboot

Hi New Way Friends!

Sunday evening, June 26th, it was announced to the evening service about a major reboot.  Effective immediately, the evening service is on hold until the reboot is complete.

Why the reboot?  Since covid, the evening service has not bounced back as we thought it would.  As we talked, it was easy to see that people wanted to see the church full and reach new people to share the gospel of Jesus Christ!  It’s not uncommon for churches to stop and restart a ministry, worship service or even their church!  Having a new start brings energy and excitement to the new venture.

What is the reboot?  After prayer, nudging of the Holy Spirit and inventory of our available gifts, we’re going to go with a “dinner church” model for Sunday evenings.  A complete hot meal will be served at the evening service.  Steve Walker has extensive knowledge on getting food from the Akron Food Bank to support this service.  This will allow people to sit with others while eating and build relationships.  We have the perfect setup for this at New Way.  The service will be less structured than the morning service to allow for eating and discussion.  We will be able to feed hungry people and help nourish their souls.

When will the reboot be complete?  We are currently targeting Sunday, September 11, 2022 for the relaunch of the evening service.

How can you help? We are in the planning stages so there will be many meetings to cover details and how people can be involved with the reboot.  Make sure to watch the New Way facebook page, website and texts for times and dates of meetings.  We will make use of various Sunday evenings at 6pm for planning and prayer for the reboot as well.

Does Pastor Keith have to associate everything with technology?  Yes…yes I do.  🙂

Thanks for your investment of prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness for New Way.  It was great to hear such excitement and positive feedback to the reboot for the evening service.  Hang on, looks like we’re on a new adventure!

Peace, Pastor Keith
